Birdlife from around the world

Learn about birdlife and biodiversity in Mallorca's mountain landscape

Approx. 4-5 hours. Tour length: 5-8 km at a leisurely pace with breaks.

On this tour, you will learn about the birds of Mallorca, how the birds travel around the world, and why there are so many different birds on Mallorca.

The world’s birdlife is more complex and has a greater significance for biodiversity than most people know. The tour takes us up into the Serra de Tramuntana mountains around Sòller.

The guided tours in the beautiful surroundings along the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range in Mallorca are with an experienced certified nature guide affiliated with the Danish Nature Guide Association and a member of the European Ranger Organisation, ERF.

On the tour, students will move around in areas where biodiversity is evident and examine the importance of a UNESCO protected area and how it is managed.
They will taste the plants and fruits they bring along, which are naturally found in the mountain range.

The students will be able to freely use various materials for the investigations on the tours to shed light on the included learning objectives, observations, empiricism, modeling and hands-on activities, which will appear in the daily program.

The tours conclude with the students presenting analyses and discussing the results in groups or in a common plenum.
