Nature guidance, hiking, and tastings
Nature guidance, hiking, and tastings in the UNESCO-protected Serra de Tramuntana mountain range
Approx. 4-5 hours. Tour length: 5-8 km at a leisurely pace with breaks.
The tour includes nature guidance, hiking, and tasting samples of nature in the mountains.
This includes studies of biodiversity in humid and dry areas at different altitudes in the form of habitat surveys and using a hygrometer.
During the course, students will work in groups on quantity and quality in various location analyses. The groups will be placed at different levels in the mountains. The analysis and fieldwork will focus on what is found and the biodiversity at the different levels of the mountain.
During the tour, students will move around in areas where biodiversity is evident and examine the significance of a UNESCO-protected area and how it is managed.
They will taste the plants and fruits they bring along, which are naturally found in the mountain range.
The students will be able to freely use various materials for the investigations on the tours to shed light on the included learning objectives, observations, empiricism, modeling and hands-on activities, which will appear in the daily program.
The tours conclude with the students presenting analyses and discussing the results in groups or in a common plenum.
