An experience with stories, nature and workshop
(Also offered in English)
Join us for a unique experience in the nature-rich area near Brede, where we will explore the secrets of the landscape together. On this guided tour, we will delve into the wonderful world of nature, where plants, animals and people have been closely linked throughout time.
Along the way, we will focus on the poisonous plants that hide in nature – plants that have both fascinated, frightened and been used in old household remedies, myths and stories. You will learn how they fit into nature's great cycle, and why they have played an important role in both cultural and natural history.
The tour is also filled with stories and true old tall tales from the Brede area, where nature and people's lives have been intertwined. The stories bring the past to life and give new perspectives on the landscape we walk through.
We round off the day with a sustainable workshop, where we use selected plants and materials from the area to create with our hands. It will be a creative and down-to-earth experience, where you will both get inspiration and a sense of how nature can be used in a sustainable way – without taking more than nature can give.
The event takes place in close collaboration with Bredes Spisehus, which completes the experience with taste experiences. In Spisehuset's garden, we can immerse ourselves in the workshop, share impressions from the tour and feel the peace from the nature around us.
Program (adapted to the group's needs):

- Get to know the poisonous plants and their role in nature
- Hear true old tall tales and local stories

Biodiversity, optical illusions and creative workshop
(Also offered in English)
Summer in nature is both lush, colorful – and sometimes deceptive.
Nature can namely fool both animals and people through optical illusions, where colors, patterns and shapes merge and hide or highlight life.
On this tour, we explore the wild nature in the summer months, where we focus on biodiversity and discover how nature works on several levels. We delve into the three levels of biodiversity that are crucial to understanding nature's diversity and the complex processes that support life on Earth:
- genetic diversity
- species richness
- the interaction of ecosystems
Along the way, we move through the landscapes, where we examine how illusions, adaptations and nature's tricks have evolved to protect, lure or survive.
We end the day with a creative Nature Build workshop in the Restaurant's beautiful outdoor area, where we work with materials from nature and build small works inspired by the experiences we have had along the way.
Program (adapted to the group's needs)
- Experience the wild nature of summer and its optical illusions
- Understand the three levels of biodiversity: genes, species and ecosystems
- Explore the landscapes and learn about nature's tricks and adaptations
- Create your own nature works in the workshop Natur Byg
- Enjoy the atmosphere in the Restaurant's cozy outdoor area
Duration: 2 hours

Taste, forage and create with nature's gifts
(Also offered in English)
Autumn is nature's great harvest time – a time when we can collect, taste and create with what the landscape gives us. On this tour, we focus on sustainable harvesting: what we can collect, when it is best to do it, and how we can do it in a way that supports nature's balance.
We take a closer look at which plants we help nature by harvesting, and which species are protected and must be allowed to stand untouched. At the same time, we learn how we can store the natural materials so that they last longer and can be used for winter's homely cozy projects – something that is also documented to be health-promoting through
craft-psychology research.
Along the way, we collect mushrooms, herbs, plants and berries, taste selected raw materials in nature, and gain new knowledge about the hidden resources we can find right around us.
The tour ends in the restaurant's cozy outdoor area, where everything is ready for a sustainable workshop. Here, participants create their own little “tour souvenir” inspired by the day's harvest – a memory that can be taken home and bring joy far into the winter.
Program (adapted to the group's needs)
- Learn to harvest nature's raw materials sustainably – what, when and how
- Gain insight into which plants we help nature by foraging – and which are protected
- Taste nature's gifts: mushrooms, herbs, berries and wild plants
- Get tips for storing and using the harvested materials in winter's cozy projects
- Experience a creative sustainable workshop and make your own “tour souvenir”
- Enjoy community and relaxation in the restaurant's outdoor area
Duration: 3 hours

Rendezvous, fights and construction for nature's vulnerable animals
(Also offered in English)
Join us on an exciting tour, where we get close to the animals' rendezvous and fights – and investigate who are enemies and who are helpers in nature's great network.
We venture out into the landscape and focus on the many ways animals survive: cooperation, competition, struggle – and adaptation.
The tour provides insight into the complex interaction that is constantly taking place in nature, and how migratory birds play an important role in this balance.
After the walk, we return to the restaurant's outdoor area, where we build together with sustainable residual materials donated by local companies.
Here we create small projects that can benefit nature's vulnerable animals. Participants can choose to hand over their construction to the company's outdoor area, so that it supports biodiversity there – or take it home and help wildlife in their own local environment.
Program (adapted to the group's needs)
- Learn about the life of migratory birds and nature's game between enemies and helpers
- Gain insight into the animals' rendezvous, conflicts and survival strategies
- Experience nature's balance between struggle, competition and cooperation
- Build in sustainable residual materials donated by local companies
- Create projects that help vulnerable animals in the area
- Choose for yourself whether your construction should support biodiversity locally – or in your own local area
